Oregano oil (Origanum vulgare) is known in traditional medicine to protect and treat bacterial infections, viruses and parasites in the stomach. It joins other potent essential oils like tea tree, lavender, eucalyptus, each with a slightly different indication.
The main active ingredients in oregano oil are Carvacrol and Thymol, which have antioxidant activity in addition to antimicrobial activity (1). Oregano oil has been shown to be effective in bacterial infections such as staphylococcus, bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), Candida infections in the oral cavity, Athlete's foot and may even have some anti-cancer activity (studied in animals only).
How is it consumed?
That's exactly why I made the above video for.
Please note: The oil is very potent against bacteria and can damage the intestinal flora if used regularly.
