About Me
My name is Dr. Gil Barzilay, a certified practitioner of Chinese and Japanese medicine whose mission is to help people who wish to help themselves.
I specialize in the health challenges that concern many people over the age of 40 – including diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, menopause, sleep problems, chronic pain, and migraines.
My journey in Chinese medicine began over a decade ago, following a long career in research at Oxford University, the Weizmann Institute and the pharmaceutical industry. I graduated with honors from a four-year program in Chinese medicine at the Broshim Campus, certified in acupuncture, herbal medicine, and traditional nutrition therapy. I later specialized in Japanese medicine based on the Kiiko Matsumoto style, macrobiotic nutrition with Eyal Shpringer, and medicinal mushrooms.
My treatments combine up-to-date medical and scientific knowledge with Eastern wisdom – through a personal, precise, and research-based approach designed to help you restore health from within.
I share my knowledge in an accessible way through digital courses, lectures for diverse audiences and companies, workshops, and retreats in Israel and abroad – as well as through my social media content channels.
You're welcome to join my home of healthy knowledge, which has already helped hundreds of patients and students and will surely help you too.
My Philosophy
The modern world forces us to keep running without pausing—long working hours, insufficient sleep, constant stress, and eating habits that are far from natural, seasonal, or body-aware. At first, we just go with whatever and however everyone arounds us lives, but over time, the body keeps the score and begins to signal distress through fatigue, chronic or recurring illnesses, weight gain, high blood sugar, and more.
I’m deeply familiar with the world of pharmaceuticals and conventional medicine. It holds great value, but it doesn’t always offer deep or sustainable solutions. Often, it treats only the symptom, not the root cause—and there are side effects to consider as well.
In Chinese and Japanese medicine, I found a way to help people return to balance—safely, naturally, and sustainably. This is a medicine that looks at the whole person—body and mind, past and present, the root of the issue and its expression—and offers precise treatment that connects ancient wisdom with modern scientific research.
Over the years, I’ve treated hundreds of people in midlife age and above. Each process is a shared journey—from patiently explaining the nature of the challenge, to tailoring the treatment, and guiding small, steady changes that help you regain control over your health.
I believe we don’t need to wait for illness to strike. We can choose to live differently—healthier, calmer, and more aligned—at any age.
